VIKING RING - VALKNUT SKULL
The Valknut, also known as the Wotan’s Knot, is one of the most enigmatic symbols in Norse mythology. The name Valknut is derived from the Old Norse words "valr," meaning "fallen warrior," and "knut," meaning "knot." This symbol is often found on graves, leading to the interpretation that it signifies Odin welcoming the fallen warriors into Valhalla, where they will prepare for Ragnarök.
The raven is one of the most iconic animals in Viking culture. The two most famous ravens are Hugin and Munin, Odin's ravens. It was said that they would fly across Midgard and bring information back to the Allfather.
The names can be roughly translated from Old Norse; Hugin means "thought," and Munin means "memory." This suggests that they held a deeper significance in their connection to Odin, acting as his eyes and ears across the realms.
This handcrafted Viking ring features the Valknut symbol and the skull, representing the fallen warriors and the connection to Odin’s ravens, Hugin and Munin.
