VIKING NECKLACE - VEGVISIR JÖRMUNGANDR
The Vegvisir, often called the Viking Compass, literally means "that which shows the way." This powerful symbol is believed to help its wearer find their way, particularly in rough weather or during difficult times. It is mentioned in the Huld Manuscript, compiled by Geir Vigfusson, and has been regarded as a guide for those navigating life's challenges. Derived from the Icelandic words "Vegur" (meaning "way") and "Visir" (meaning "signpost"), Vegvisir translates to "wayfinder."
The inclusion of Jörmungandr, the Midgard Serpent, adds another layer of meaning. Known for his role in Ragnarök, Jörmungandr represents the cycles of life and death, chaos and order. Combined with the Vegvisir, the symbol serves as a powerful tool for guidance and protection, with the serpent embodying the eternal struggle of Norse mythology.
