VIKING BRACELET - VEGVISIR SYMBOL

Vegvisir literally means "that which shows the way" and is often referred to as the Viking compass. It is believed that the Vegvisir symbol helps the wearer find their way, especially in rough weather.

The Vegvisir is mentioned in the Huld Manuscript, which was compiled by Geir Vigfusson.

The term "Vegvisir" comes from the Icelandic words Vegur meaning "way" and Visir meaning "indicator". Thus, Vegvisir literally means "wayfinder".

Jewellery has been an integral part of Nordic civilisation since ancient times. The Vikings placed great importance on their image and aesthetics, which contrasts with the common perception of them as plundering and battle-hungry warriors.

Beyond the image of fierce fighters, there were men and women who were deeply passionate about the creation and crafting of ornaments.

Bracelets were among the most popular pieces of jewellery for the Vikings. Whether made from silver, gold, leather, or natural materials like wood and bone, each Viking bracelet carries its own unique story.

PACKAGE INCLUDES:

  • 1 x Vegvisir Viking Bracelet
