THOR'S HAMMER NECKLACE - VALKNUT WOLVES
Wolves were a prominent presence in many Nordic artifacts and sagas, often symbolizing different meanings. Fenrir, the son of Loki and Angrboða, was one of the main figures in the sagas. It was prophesied that he would break free from the chains that bound him, swallow the sun and moon, and devour Odin during the battle of Ragnarök.
There were also other wolves in Norse mythology that were not all considered evil. Odin was often depicted with two wolves by his side, named "Geri" and "Freki." These loyal companions followed him into battle and roamed alongside him.
The Valknut, or Wotan's Knot, is one of the most mysterious symbols in Norse mythology. The name Valknut comes from the Old Norse words "valr," meaning "slain warrior," and "knut," meaning "knot." This symbol often appears on graves and is interpreted as a sign that Odin welcomes the slain warrior into Valhalla.
In Norse mythology, Mjölnir refers to the hammer wielded by the thunder god Thor. Mjölnir means "Crusher" in Old Norse.
Mjölnir frequently appears in Norse sagas and was considered the most powerful weapon ever made. It was capable of destroying entire mountain ranges with a single blow and granted Thor numerous powers, including the ability to summon lightning.
Mjölnir pendants became particularly popular as Christianity spread throughout Europe, and people wore them as a sign of defiance against newly converted Christians.
This handcrafted Viking necklace combines the mighty Mjölnir with the powerful Valknut symbol and the image of Odin’s loyal wolves, representing strength, protection, and the warriors who fought bravely in battle.
