THOR WITH JORMUNGAND SCULPTURE
Honor your favourite Norse gods and goddesses with this amazingly detailed statue!
This special Viking figure depicts Thor in battle with Jormungand and is ideal for your altar, home décor, or simply to have Thor by your side!
Thor is the famous Norse god of thunder and lightning. The day Thursday (Thor's Day) is named after him.
His most famous possession, depicted in this carving, is his hammer Mjöllnir ("Lightning"). For the pagan Scandinavians, thunder embodied Thor, and lightning embodied his hammer, with which he rode across the sky in his chariot pulled by goats and defeated giants.
This statue is carved from ash wood and portrays the god Thor battling Jormungand, the giant sea serpent that encircles Midgard, the world of human civilization, and is his greatest enemy. Thor and Jormungand are destined to face each other during Ragnarök, where they will ultimately bring about each other's demise.
The statue is made from beautiful ash wood, is very detailed, and has a good weight. It makes a great gift for anyone interested in Norse mythology.
