In Norse mythology, the Drakkar or longships were long, narrow, and highly flexible vessels used by the Vikings for trade, exploration, and warfare. The longships had symmetrical ends and a top speed of around 15 knots. They were also called "dragon ships" because they often featured dragon-shaped prows or other magical creatures carved into them.

For centuries, the Viking longships symbolized their maritime power. These seafaring warriors used their longships to travel as far as Iceland, Greenland, North America, and even the Mediterranean!
